Beer Bar Festa (Festa) in Shimokitazawa opened at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20. In an Instagram post, it announced the newly tapped Miyagi beer, Forest Brewing's "Komorebi Pale Ale". The brewery, which operates in forestry, was introduced with mention of how it makes use of firewood and offcuts, and the beer was described as a pale ale with a moderate bitterness.
The domestic taps for the day included Hansharo Beer's "Golden Cannon," Repubrew's "Black Mist of Bamberg," Matsue Beer Hall's "Sansho White Ale," Iwate Kura's "Sanriku Oyster Stout," Rio Brewing Co.'s "Tipsy," and Yokohama Bay Brewing's "Weekend Journey," with "Heartland" also available as a regular beer.
The international beer lineup featured Thornbridge's "Double Green Mountain," Lucky Endrope's "Tangerine Hazy IPA," Puyala's "Cozy Night," and Echoes' "Monk's Indiscretion." Spanning Japan and overseas, the selection covered a wide range from pale ale and white ale to stout and hazy IPA.
The shop is a fifth-floor beer pub located near the Central Exit of Shimokitazawa Station, equipped with 12 craft beer taps, counter seating, table seating, and darts. It works just as well for a quick solo stop as it does for drinking with a group, offering the kind of easygoing convenience that suits Shimokitazawa. Since Friday service runs late into the night, it is an appealing stop for anyone who wants to chase the latest keg rotation.
