New tap

HOP MAN, a beer pub in Chigasaki, has added Minoh Beer’s COFFEE IPA to the lineup. The beer is a collaboration with TAKAMURA COFFEE ROASTERS, a well-known roaster in Osaka, and it leans on coffee character without losing the structure of an IPA.

What it tastes like

The coffee used this time is Colombia Forest Pink Bourbon Creation. According to the post, it brings delicate floral notes, sweet caramel, and a subtle tropical fruit impression. The base uses pale malt with a small amount of wheat malt, while American hops add citrus aroma and a bright edge. The result is a beer built around layered aroma and fruit-forward coffee character.

Drinking notes

At 6.0% ABV and 40 IBU, this is not a brute-force bitter IPA. It should read more as a balanced, aromatic beer where the coffee, hops, and malt work together. Because the coffee beans change from release to release, this COFFEE IPA also offers an easy way to compare different expressions of the same collaboration.
