June 19 at Andbeer Koenji Taproom

Andbeer, a brewpub in Koenji, Suginami, runs a continuous service day on Friday, June 19, from 11:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The schedule covers lunch, an afternoon idle period, and dinner. Beer takeout is also available, including growlers.

Beers highlighted for the day

- SAL SAL
A beer inspired by the Mexican cocktail Margarita. It uses Mexican lime and salt, and is a 3rd-anniversary beer for Olla, Andbeer’s sister venue in Asagaya.
- PICO PICO
A beer inspired by the Mexican beer cocktail Michelada. It combines lemon, five kinds of chili, black pepper, and salt, and is also part of Olla’s 3rd-anniversary celebration.

Both beers lean into citrus and spice, so a side-by-side tasting should make the differences clear. They work well as a first drink or as beers to pair with a full meal.

Food pairing notes

The food lineup includes katsuo tataki achar rice, mustard fennel oyster curry, and Gujo miso keema, plus dishes such as herb-heavy katsuo tataki achar, battered cauliflower, turnip and lotus root, ethnic spring rolls with pork and cilantro, and sweet-and-sour pork with black vinegar. The menu offers enough acidity, spice, and richness to match the beers' bright profiles.

About the venue

Andbeer is the kind of Koenji brewpub where beer and food can be enjoyed at an easy pace. The terrace is pet-friendly, and the shop also offers takeout and Uber Eats, making it a flexible stop whether you want to stay for a meal or take beer home.
