RIKKA to host URAHORO CRAFTBEER RUN SESSION on July 26
A collaboration between the natural-beer brewery RIKKA and the running crew lazylegsruncrew will take place on Sunday, July 26 at 12:00. Participants will jog from the town center to the experimental barley field, tour the brewery, and finish with a soba-and-beer gathering.
RIKKA, a brewery based in Sapporo's Nishi Ward with another base in Urahoro, will team up with the running project lazylegsruncrew for URAHORO CRAFTBEER RUN SESSION on Sunday, July 26 at 12:00. The meetup point is Urahoro Cosmic Hall, and the route leads from the town center to the trial field where RIKKA grows the barley used for its beer.
The course is a little over 3 km one way, or about 6 km round trip. It is designed as an easy, conversational jog, so participants do not need to race. Running-only participation is free, while the full session with the social gathering costs 3,000 yen. Beer can also be taken home.
After the run, participants will tour RIKKA's brewery and see the malt-making process and brewing tanks up close. The day ends with a get-together at Yabu Soba Kashiwaya, where the menu is set as shrimp-tempura zaru soba, with kake soba available on request, alongside RIKKA beer.
RIKKA is known for handling barley cultivation, malting, and brewing in one flow. Founded on Earth Day, April 22, 2021, the brewery has continued building a beer style tied closely to soil, agriculture, and the local community. This event is a compact way to experience that approach through running, brewery visits, and food.
