RIKKA to launch FIELD BREW Season One in September, made with Urahoro barley
RIKKA, based in Sapporo’s Nishi Ward, will begin shipping its new beer FIELD BREW Season One in September. The 3.8% ABV beer is made with barley grown in Urahoro and is also slated to appear at a Patagonia Sapporo sales event on August 29 and 30.
RIKKA, the craft beer brand based in Sapporo’s Nishi Ward, will release a new beer called FIELD BREW Season One in September. In its announcement, the brewery describes the beer as the first step in a new regenerative brewing approach, built around the idea of valuing every barley grain to the end.
The beer comes in a 330ml bottle and sits at 3.8% ABV. According to the post, it offers a dry, lightly sweetened profile with pleasant hop bitterness and a quiet barley character lingering underneath. Rather than a beer for special occasions, it is positioned as one that fits naturally at the table and invites another pour. The price is 1,200 yen before tax, with shipments set to begin in early September.
RIKKA takes its name from the Japanese word for snow crystal, and the brewery has long emphasized connections between beer, land, and community. That philosophy is also reflected on its official site, which highlights organic-minded brewing and soil-focused production. The post also notes that the beer will be available at a Patagonia Sapporo sales event on August 29 and 30.
