Spring Tap List

Kaku-uchi Asakura in Kyoto’s Kamigyo Ward is a beer pub with both craft beer and sake. In this post, the tap list is introduced to match a perfect hanami day. The shop also offers standing drinking, and with 5 craft beer taps and 10 kinds of sake as its core, it is a place you can drop in for a casual drink.

This day’s Pick up Brewery is Zakkoku Kobo

The highlight of the day is Zakkoku Kobo from Saitama. In the post, it is 소개ced as a brewery that makes use of the individuality of its ingredients, using locally grown barley and fruit while also mentioning its home-grown hops. The lineup is as follows.

- IRODORI Green Citrus
Saison w/ Kabosu & Yuzu, ABV 5.5%
- Spring River
Mochi Rice Ale, ABV 5.5%
- Babitari Saison
Saison w/ OGAWA Barley, ABV 5.0%

From refreshing citrus-like notes, to the gentle mouthfeel of rice, to a saison that brings out the flavor of barley, this is a lineup that shows different expressions from the same brewery.

Five craft beers on tap

The tap list is a combination with a wide range in aroma and body.

- Ise Kadoya Beer / Nama Kado Smoked Oyster Stout (Mie)
- Shonan Beer / Sakura Gose (Kanagawa)
- NUDE BEER / Soten-SOUTEN- Light Lager (Kyoto)
- NOMCRAFT Brewing / Mighty Dragon Hazy IPA (Wakayama)
- Nishijin Beer / Yang Guifei’s Nectar Juicy IPA (Kyoto)

From a smoked stout to a gose, lager, hazy IPA, and juicy IPA, the selection makes it easy to choose anything from a light drink to something with substantial flavor. Another appealing point is that it includes Kyoto-based NUDE BEER and Nishijin Beer, adding a sense of local enjoyment.

Sake is also well stocked

Kaku-uchi Asakura also has a strong sake selection. The post introduces 10 kinds of sake plus one special extra bottle, making it possible to switch from craft beer to sake along the way. Even if you visit mainly for beer, the place has the kind of depth you want in a proper drinking spot.
