Canal brewing adds four ANTELOPE meads to its tap list in Oimachi
Canal brewing in Oimachi, Tokyo, has brought in four meads from ANTELOPE’s SANAGI series. One of them, SANAGI 5 - Sora, is also available by the glass, making it easy to try alongside the bar’s rotating craft beer lineup.
Four meads arrive
Canal brewing is a brewery and craft beer specialty shop in Oi, Shinagawa, just a short walk from Oimachi Station. The space is mostly standing-room style, but it is also welcoming to families and visitors with children.
In this post, the shop announced four meads from ANTELOPE, the meadery based in Yasu, Shiga. Mead is fermented from honey as the main ingredient, so it offers a different kind of sweetness, acidity, and finish from beer. The post also notes that one of the four, SANAGI 5 - Sora, is available by the glass, which makes it easy to start with a single pour.
The tap list that day
Alongside the meads, the tap list covers a wide range of styles. The lineup includes Canal brewing’s own "C", the collaboration beer "Peanut Butter Po-Taro" with Cycad Brewing, CHORYO Craft Beer’s "Krush/Mosaic HAZY IPA", Teenage Brewing’s "Next Up", and Nara Brewing’s "WATERMELON HEAD".
The list also features FARMENTRY’s "Dark Mild -Nitro Ver-", CRAFT BANK’s "04-KOLSCH", FLORA FERMENTATION’s "FLORA LAGER", and Passific Brewing’s "Spawn". IPA, hazy IPA, porter, lager, and saison-adjacent options all sit on the same bar, so it is a good place to move between beer and mead in one visit.
For drinkers in Oimachi, this is a practical stop: a local brewery with a compact, approachable room and a tap list that spans both craft beer and mead.
