ISANA Brewing, which has operated a brewery and roastery in Akishima, Tokyo since 2018, will host a special tasting event on June 28: "Udon Dashi Ale Vertical Tasting." Known for its in-house brewed craft beer and use of Akishima's deep groundwater, the brewery is now turning the spotlight to one of its more unusual beer lines.

The event was proposed by Fantom Zebra, also known as Hattori. In the post, ISANA describes it as a chance to experience a uniquely deep slice of the brewery's history. The main attraction is a vertical tasting of "udon dashi ale" starting from the third batch. The lineup includes Type-S2 Sanuki Udon Dashi (West Sanuki), Type-M Musashino Udon Dashi, Type-O Osaka Udon Dashi, Type-S3 Sanuki Udon Dashi (East Sanuki), Type-H Hakata Udon Dashi, Type-S4 Sanuki Udon Dashi (Central Sanuki), Type-M2 Musashino Udon Dashi, and Type-S5 Sanuki Udon Dashi (East Sanuki).

Also included are 8 Ban Dashi and a bonus beer labeled "Okhotsk ni Kiyu Ale." The 8 Ban Dashi will be poured in 150 ml servings, while the other beers are in cans and will be sampled at roughly 30 ml per person. Rather than a standard tasting flight, the format is designed to let guests trace the evolution of the series batch by batch.

The extras make the session even more distinctive: a talk between Zebra Hattori and ISANA's Chida about dashi beers, a 500-yen discount ticket for a dashi beer T-shirt, and an original tasting sheet. Attendance is by advance reservation through Google Form, with a cap of 10 participants and a fee of 3,300 yen. ISANA also notes that anyone joining the separate udon dashi event afterward should make a separate reservation.
