Mimasaka Beer Works Brews Its 2026 Fresh Hop Ale
Mimasaka Beer Works in Maniwa, Okayama, has announced that it has brewed the 2026 edition of its Fresh Hop Ale. The seasonal beer is made with freshly harvested hops, and beer lovers will be watching for details on its release and flavor profile.
The 2026 batch has been brewed
Mimasaka Beer Works announced on October 14 that it had brewed the 2026 edition of its Fresh Hop Ale. The brewery’s official Instagram post states: “We have brewed the 2026 edition of our Fresh Hop Ale.”
Fresh hop ales are brewed with hops soon after harvest, before they are dried or processed. This approach can bring out green, bright, and fresh hop aromas that differ from those found in beers made with conventional dried or pelletized hops. Because the raw hops are highly seasonal and must be handled quickly, fresh hop beers are closely tied to the harvest period.
The post does not yet disclose the hop variety, alcohol content, tasting notes, release date, or sales locations. The confirmed news at this stage is that the 2026 edition has been brewed. Further announcements may reveal how this year’s hops express themselves in the finished beer.
A brewery rooted in Maniwa
Mimasaka Beer Works is based in Maniwa, Okayama, and opened in 2018. The brewery describes its approach as understanding ingredients such as yeast, malt, and hops, then carefully creating the conditions needed to bring out their character.
Its lineup includes a Session IPA made with locally sourced rice and honey, a Pale Ale featuring roasted green tea from Maniwa, and a sake-kasu beer made with lees from a local sake brewery. The Fresh Hop Ale also reflects the brewery’s interest in working with regional ingredients and the changing seasons.
Beer drinkers will be looking forward to the next update on when the 2026 edition will be released and how this year’s fresh hops come through in the glass.
