BEER COLONY, a beer pub in Ujina Honmachi, Toyama City, updated its tap list in a June 12 post. The headline addition is Trademark's West Coast IPA, `Space Beach`, which the shop says was previously received in cans and has now been put on draft as well. The post describes it as bright with citrus from Citra and Cashmere, dank, and cleanly bitter, with 7% ABV and an easy-drinking finish for the style.

The draft lineup now has six beers: `Nomcraft Lager`, `Pale Ale`, `Kind of Gold`, `Sweet Strawberry`, `Space Beach`, and `Eden`. The styles cover Helles Lager, Pale Ale, Hazy IPA, Fruit Beer, and two West Coast IPAs, so there is a clear opportunity to compare how different breweries interpret the same hop-forward template. The post even notes that tasting the WCIPAs side by side should be fun.

The named beers are `Nomcraft Lager` from NOMCRAFT, `Pale Ale` from BACCA, `Kind of Gold` from Tamamura Honten / Shiga Kogen, `Sweet Strawberry` from Onidensetsu, `Space Beach` from Trademark, `Eden` from Trap Door, and the upcoming `1926` from KUNITACHI.

The can selection is also broad, with arrivals from Grimm, Mountain Culture, One Drop, LA Ale Works, Hobo, 8bit, Topa Topa, Karl Strauss, Tokyo Aleworks, cycad, Beachwood, Von Ebert, WCB, Firestone Walker, Alvarado Street, and Changing Colous. Some are already sold out, which suggests a fast-moving lineup. For draft-first drinkers in Toyama, BEER COLONY remains a spot where domestic and imported craft beer updates can be tracked in one place.
