The brewery Mimasaka Beer Works in Maniwa, Okayama Prefecture, will hold a reservation-only event starting at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 4.

This time's theme is “Liquor and culture encountered in Bolivia, South America.” According to the post, based on photos from a trip through South America taken by the brother, who usually works in dairy farming, the event will introduce experiences from visits to the Uyuni Salt Flat, a distillery, La Paz at an altitude of 3,600 meters, and a city carnival, along with photos.

The venue is Mimasaka Beer Works. The participation fee is 1,000 yen including one drink. The post says that for people who want to listen while drinking, an all-you-can-drink option will be available, and for people who cannot drink because they are driving or for other reasons, a non-alcoholic option will also be offered. Bolivian-inspired food and beer are also planned.

The featured drink at the event is “singani,” a grape-based distilled spirit made in Bolivia. The structure of the event follows a one-week journey through local distilleries and fields, touching the life of the region, and conveys the background behind each glass.

Because the event is reservation-only, those who wish to participate must apply via Instagram DM or by phone.

Mimasaka Beer Works is a craft brewery based in Maniwa, Okayama Prefecture. It is known for brewing beers that make use of the character of ingredients and fermentation, including standard session IPAs and pale ales, SAKEKASU SPECIAL made with sake lees, and strong stouts using coffee. This event also seems like a very MBW-style project that broadens the focus from beer to food and culture. It is drawing attention as a chance to taste South American drinks and scenery at a local brewery.
