Hongo Kikusaka-cho Camos to Join Ooyokochori Festival Kids' Fair on Oct. 12
Hongo Kikusaka-cho Camos announced on Instagram that it will join the Ooyokochori Festival Kids' Fair on Sunday, Oct. 12 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The brewery, rooted in Bunkyo Ward's Hongo district, continues to build a neighborhood-centered beer culture.
Hongo Kikusaka-cho Camos is a brewery and tap room in Hongo, Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo, near the historic Kikuzaka area. The shop opened in 2023 and began serving its own brewed beer in February 2024. Brewer-owner Sam has said he was inspired by the neighborhood brewery culture he saw in Germany, where small breweries feel like a natural part of daily street life.
In the Instagram post, the brewery announced that it will take part in the Ooyokochori Festival "Kids' Fair" on Sunday, Oct. 12 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The post also hints at a locally popular charcoal-grilled food item, suggesting a booth designed for pairing beer with festival-style food.
The brewery has also been running monthly brewery tours, reflecting its broader effort to make craft beer feel close to everyday life in Hongo. This appearance at a local shopping-street festival fits that direction: it brings the brewery out of its tap room and into the rhythms of the neighborhood.
