The first Kitano Daibakushukai will be held at Kitano Tenmangu on July 18-19, 2026. Framed as a beer festival inspired by Hideyoshi Toyotomi’s Kitano Great Tea Gathering, the event brings together breweries from the Nishijin area, guest breweries, food booths, and festival-style stalls. Admission is free, making it an easy way to enjoy craft beer in one of Kyoto’s most historic settings.

Among the exhibitors is Yamorido, the Fushimi brewpub that began brewing in June 2019 and carries forward a traditional machiya and tea-shop heritage. Its core lineup is especially relevant here: Destino, an American Pale Ale built around Sorachi Ace; Chabuki, a saison made with Uji karigane tea and yuzu peel; Coup de Grace, a New England IPA with hops and oats; and Ushigoroshi, an American IPA.

More recent official posts also point to Chirin, a Weizen with kuromoji, and Tiger Kick, a West Coast IPA with citrus and pineapple-like aromatics and bitterness. That range shows what makes Yamorido distinct: hop-forward IPAs, expressive wheat beers, and house beers that pair naturally with food. For beer fans heading to Kitano Tenmangu, it is a strong reason to pay attention to the Yamorido booth as the festival launches its first edition.
