Four Japanese craft beers on tap

Chiitoko Shoten, a distinctive beer pub in Shimosuwa, Nagano, has announced its September 4 opening hours: 10:00–22:00. Known as a shop for dagashi sweets, beer, and coffee, the venue offers a casual setting where visitors can enjoy draft beer alongside nostalgic snacks and a cup of coffee.

The day’s four draft beers are:

- Minoh Beer Pale Ale
- Kyoto Brewing Yomigaeru Washi ~Hoppy Kolsch~
- SanktGallen Pineapple Ale
- Shiga Kogen Beer Sonoju ~No.10 Anniversary IPA~

Minoh Beer’s Pale Ale is an approachable choice for pairing with snacks or light food. Kyoto Brewing’s Yomigaeru Washi is a Hoppy Kolsch, combining the crisp, easy-drinking character of a Kölsch-style ale with a noticeable hop aroma.

SanktGallen’s Pineapple Ale brings tropical fruit character to the lineup, with pineapple at the center of its flavor profile. For a more hop-forward finish, Shiga Kogen Beer’s Sonoju offers the stronger bitterness and aromatic intensity expected from an IPA.

The selection covers a broad range, from light and refreshing beers to a fruit beer and a more substantial IPA. That makes Chiitoko Shoten a practical stop for a quick pint, as well as a place to compare several Japanese craft beer styles.

Located at 3217-5 Mitamachi-shimo, Shimosuwa, Chiitoko Shoten has an approachable, neighborhood atmosphere. Guests can browse dagashi, enjoy a draft beer, and finish with coffee in the same visit. Tap availability and opening details may change, so checking the shop’s official information before visiting is recommended.
