According to an Instagram post from the brewpub 254BeeR, a 1-minute walk from Hakuraku Station, the shop has started serving a limited beer: BLACK IPA. The same beer was first brewed around last summer, but this time the yeast was changed to suit the colder season, and the recipe was designed to leave a little more sweetness than before.

The tasting profile is built around aromas like dark chocolate, layered with hop-derived herbal notes and grassy character. In addition, bitterness reminiscent of orange ties the beer together, and it is presented as a dark beer that balances richness with drinkability.

The post also revealed the tap lineup. The core beers are S54 (Saison) / Hakuraku IPA (IPA) / Sheep & Sheep (Hazy IPA) / Utatane (Dry Hopped Saison), and the limited beers are TRIPEL (Belgian Tripel) / CORIANDER SAISON (Saison) / BLACK IPA (Black IPA) / AFTER 8 (Belgian Dark Strong Ale). With a wide range of styles, it is an easy lineup to build a session around, from the first glass to a side-by-side tasting.

The post also announced that Wednesday, February 25, will open at 6:00 p.m. due to staff training. On top of the convenience of being near the station, 254BeeR's appeal is its well-balanced selection of core and limited beers centered on its own house-brewed lineup. If you're aiming for the BLACK IPA, it would be wise to plan an early visit.
