A new collaboration beer has arrived from Streetlight Brewing, located at 10-19 Nishi, Kita 10-jo, Chuo-ku, Sapporo. This time, the partner is Atsumi Peninsula Brewing Co., which began brewing in 2025 on the Atsumi Peninsula in the southernmost part of Aichi Prefecture.

The new beer is called TAKAHOA. At 3.5% ABV and brewed in the Ordinary Bitter style, it is designed so that the soft character of the malt is layered with a moderate hop bitterness. The post describes it as a beer that makes you want to keep drinking glass after glass, making this a bottle worth watching for its balance of lightness and satisfying depth.

The background behind this collaboration is also interesting. Atsumi Peninsula Brewing is a brewery that focuses on local production and circular use, recycling spent grain 100% as a treat for chickens and Shorthorn cattle on its own farm. It also aims to eventually brew beer made entirely with ingredients from Atsumi. Streetlight Brewing respected that philosophy and execution, and made this collaboration brew possible using malt sent from Atsumi Peninsula Brewing.

The beer name TAKAHOA comes from a Maori word from New Zealand meaning "companions" or "friends." It is also striking that the relationship that grew out of a connection from working at Streetlight Brewing is reflected directly in the name.

The release begins at the taproom on April 3, with nationwide shipping starting on April 6. Streetlight Brewing's taproom welcomes outside food, offers canned beer to go, and is friendly to guests with children and pets, making it an easy place to drop by. It is a beer shaped by the connection between brewers, and one worth checking out in Sapporo.
