North Island Beer to Join Ebetsu Factory Direct Sales and Sapporo's Kanshasai on May 17
On May 17, North Island Beer will hold direct sales at its Ebetsu factory and also take part in the "Japan Sake All-Star Warm Sake Thanksgiving Festival in Sapporo 2026" in Sapporo. Based in Ebetsu, Hokkaido, and known for its five core beers plus limited brews, the brewery's activities are drawing attention.
North Island Beer is a brewery based in Ebetsu, Hokkaido. It started in Sapporo in 2003 and moved to Ebetsu in 2009. Its core lineup consists of five beers: Pilsner, Brown Ale, Weizen, IPA, and Coriander Black, and it also produces limited brews that make use of seasonal ingredients and local materials.
May 17 is a day when you can buy beer at the direct-sales shop at the Ebetsu factory. The official site says the factory shop is open every Saturday and on holidays from 10:00 to 17:00, and one of its features is that you can choose products at the place where the beer is made. It also supports shipping within Japan, making it easy to use not only for takeout but also as a gift.
On the same May 17, the "Japan Sake All-Star Warm Sake Thanksgiving Festival in Sapporo 2026" will also be held in Chuo Ward, Sapporo. The venues are Hokkaido Jingu Tongu and Doshin DO-BOX EAST, and on May 17 it runs from 11:00 to 16:00. While the event centers on warmed sake, its lineup also includes craft beer and craft gin from Hokkaido, and North Island Beer will participate in the craft beer section.
Tickets cost 2,000 yen and include three servings of sake or gin plus a special glass. Beer is paid for separately at each booth, so at the venue it seems best to enjoy trying a little of each label that catches your eye. By combining the Ebetsu factory direct sales and the Sapporo event, it looks like you'll be able to follow North Island Beer from both the "place where it's made" and the "place where you enjoy it out and about" in a single day.
