Okei Brewery Nippori opens Haisupa 3.5-go and updates its 12-tap lineup
Okei Brewery Nippori in Arakawa, Tokyo, announced a new opening on July 22: Haisupa 3.5-go. The coconut-tinged, bitter beer joins a 12-tap lineup spanning house beers and guest pours from three Japanese breweries.
A summer update in Nippori
Okei Brewery Nippori, a brewpub in Higashi-Nippori, Arakawa Ward, updated its tap list on July 22. The headline addition is Haisupa 3.5-go, described by the brewery as a beer with a soft coconut character and a clean bitterness, recommended alongside vanilla ice cream.
The core lineup leans heavily on the venue's own beers. Names such as `HELLES`, `OKEI IPA`, `Nippori Kölsch`, `Steam Ale`, `Arakawa Hazy Under Bridge`, and `Super Arakawa Hazy Under the Bridge` suggest a range from crisp, easy-drinking styles to hazy, hop-forward options. `Hinata-Natsu Splash` and `Megante` add a more playful touch to the board.
Guest beers also appear on the list. `Passion Yawara` comes from UshiTora Brewery, `Sour Ale` from NORTH ISLAND BEER, and `Monster Gold ver 6.0` from BLACK TIDE BREWING. That mix gives drinkers a straightforward comparison between the brewpub's house pours and beers from established Japanese craft breweries.
For beer fans, the appeal is not only the new release but also the balance of the whole board: lighter lager-like options, refreshing ale styles, hazy beers, and a sour. Since the venue also serves food, it works well as a place to settle in for a meal and a few rounds rather than a quick stop.
The post also notes that there is no bicycle parking available and that alcohol cannot be served to guests arriving by bicycle. If you're planning a visit in Nippori, it's worth checking access before heading out.
