HOPMAN, a beer pub on the second floor in Shonandai, Chigasaki, has added Repubrew’s WHOLE HOP CITRA“BLUES” to the taps. It fits the bar’s style well: a place where beer fans can chase a fresh draft pour and settle in with food for a longer session.

The beer traces back to Repubrew’s eighth-anniversary project, REPUBREW’S CUP, where a whole-hop-themed beer took first place. For this version, the brewery strengthened the aroma by moving the hop addition to the whirlpool. Loral and Saphir bring floral, herbal, and lightly citrus-driven notes to the glass.

Visually, it pours pale gold. The body is light, the bitterness stays restrained, and the finish is dry. Malt character is still present, while a subtle tea-like astringency lingers at the end. Rather than a loud, high-impact profile, this is the kind of beer that builds interest steadily sip by sip.

The brewery’s suggested pairings include pâté de campagne, shrimp tempura, and Tuscan-style potatoes. That combination makes the beer’s hop character easier to read, and it should work especially well for drinkers looking for a crisp, aromatic draft beer in Chigasaki. At HOPMAN, this is the kind of tap worth checking first.
