Guest beer
MOONRISE KINGDOM, a beer pub in Nishi-Shinjuku, posted its Tuesday opening notice for July 14 and introduced a guest beer from Kanazawa’s BREW CLASSIC: “Ari no Ichigeki.” The beer is a New Zealand IPA at 6.5% ABV, described with notes of stone fruit, white grape, and citrus, plus a pleasant dank character and a rounded bitterness.
Food pairing
The pub continues to focus on its house-made Mexican and Italian cooking alongside craft beer. Its seasonal bruschetta, made with fresh ingredients, is highlighted as a popular starter, and the menu is built around pairings that work well with crisp, fruity beers. The day’s recommendations include fresh fish ceviche, Norwegian salmon with summer lemon, Mexican birria tacos, carnitas tacos, prosciutto and melon with mascarpone, and cold basil cappellini.
