The brewpub Brewery and Cheese Ino Chujiro Shoten in Sawara, Katori City, Chiba Prefecture, has published Haginobeer's latest tap list. The lineup includes the new collaboration "novel" with mopshand beer, along with Sorachi 1984 and several distinctive IPAs from Japan and abroad.
The Brewery and Cheese Ino Chujiro Shoten in Sahara I, Katori City, Chiba Prefecture, is a brewpub located not far from the former home of Ino Tadataka. Centered on beer and cheese dishes, it is known as a place that is easy to stop by while walking around town.
In this Instagram post, it greeted followers with "Good evening! This is Haginobeer!" and announced that it is open from Wednesday through Saturday. It also said that on Saturday it plans to tap the new beer "novel" with mopshand beer. The beer is 7.6% ABV and is designed to feel IPA-like when cold, with a more Belgian character emerging as it warms. Its finish is said to carry notes of pear and banana.
The current tap list is as follows.
1. Sapporo Sorachi 1984
2. Breakside / Wander LUST : IPA
3. Nori's beer / American Pale Ale
4. Open air / Illumination / Sake Yeast IPA
Along with the familiar hop character of Sorachi 1984, the lineup includes an IPA from Oregon's Breakside, an American Pale Ale from Yamanashi's Nori's beer, and a sake yeast IPA from Hyogo's Open air, creating a lineup that spans both domestic and international offerings. Rather than relying on flash alone, it is a selection best enjoyed slowly alongside food.
In a location that suits Sawara's historic streetscape, the strength of this place is that you can enjoy beer and cheese together. To understand Haginobeer's current direction, the clearest way is simply to follow the taps.
