Service note for June 5

GRANDPA FISH & CHIPS in Kameido announced Gimmie Shelter / British Golden Ale from Uchoten Jozo as its new real ale in a June 5 post. The beer is listed as pint-only, positioned as a relaxed English-style golden ale for an easygoing pint.

The bar sits at 5-16-6 Kameido, Koto-ku, Tokyo, and its website describes the space as bright and easy to walk into for first-time visitors. It is a small beer pub with six seats and standing room, and it usually offers four to five Japanese craft beers on draft. Real ale appears only from time to time, which makes this service especially notable.

For food, the obvious match is the house fish and chips. GRANDPA serves it in a herb batter, and the menu also includes chicken and chips, homemade pickles, mixed nuts, and even kaki no tane for a simple bar-snack lineup. It is the kind of place where beer stays at the center, with food playing a supporting role rather than the other way around.

The shop is scheduled to open from 17:00 to 23:00, with last orders at 22:00, and it says it will be closed the next day, Saturday, June 6. TAP 2 and TAP 3 are listed as coming once they are ready, so the night looks set to revolve around real ale, fried food, and a low-key pint-at-a-time rhythm.
