Craft Beer Kitchen Kokonotsuki adds Benfinita and Have a Tea on August 4
The Yokohama beer pub Craft Beer Kitchen Kokonotsuki announced two new taps on August 4: Flora Fermentation’s Benfinita and Odawara Garage Brewing’s Have a Tea. The six-beer lineup also includes Seapine Brewing, Lucky Envelope Brewing, and Hopkotan Brewing, making it a relaxed stop from 3 p.m. onward.
Craft Beer Kitchen Kokonotsuki, a beer pub in Miyakawacho, Naka Ward, Yokohama, shared its August 4 tap list. The shop opens at 3 p.m. and gives the impression of a place where craft beer and Chinese dishes can be enjoyed at an easy pace.
Two beers were tapped fresh for the day. Flora Fermentation’s "Benfinita" is a saison brewed with grape pomace from wines made by Hitomi Winery in Shiga and Himeko Brewing in Nagano. It layers the complexity of saison yeast with notes that suggest green apple and strawberry. Odawara Garage Brewing’s "Have a Tea" uses Ashigara tea and sansho leaves, bringing gentle sweetness and a spicy edge that fits summer well.
The rest of the lineup included Seapine Brewing’s "Blackberry Gose," Hopkotan Brewing’s "One Lap Behind Yuzu Nashi Ver." as a house-exclusive, Lucky Envelope Brewing’s "Watermelon Splash Sour," and Hopkotan Brewing’s "kimi." The range moves from tart fruit-driven beers to tea- and herb-leaning profiles, giving drinkers a clear set of contrasts to explore.
Food stays firmly in Chinese territory, with dishes such as steamed chicken with green sansho and scallion sauce, fried eggplant with ginger soy sauce, mapo tofu, Shanghai-style yakisoba, shrimp mayo, and drooling wontons. The pub also highlights items like century egg potato salad with maqaw, braised pork bowl, shumai, and sweet-and-sour pork. It is a lineup that makes sense with the beer: fresh, food-friendly, and easy to pair across several styles.
