Hinomoto Brewing & Beer Stand refreshes 10 taps on April 4, featuring Kohatu Pale Ale and Kurotobi #4
On April 4, Hinomoto Brewing & Beer Stand released its tap information for Saturday service. With 10 beers on tap, including Kohatu Pale Ale, Yuzu Sour Saison, and Kurotobi #4, the lineup offers a chance to enjoy mostly Japanese craft beer in Komagome.
April 4 Tap Lineup
The Brewpub Hinomoto Brewing & Beer Stand in Honkomagome, Tokyo, updated its service information for Saturday, April 4. Hours are 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with Wednesdays closed. On weekdays it operates from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and on weekends and holidays from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. In the post, after keg cleaning was finished, it was introduced as a “normal day today,” inviting people to spend a relaxed day enjoying local Komagome beer.
The day’s taps include 10 beers with a wide range of styles, such as the brisk NZ Pale Ale "Kohatu Pale Ale," the reddish "DH Red Ale," the saison-style "Sauvin Belgo Brut," the Italian Pilsner "Ryusuisousou," and the yuzu-infused "Yuzu Sour Saison." Rather than focusing on a single heavy pour, the lineup lets you work through aroma, acidity, and hop character one by one.
The darker selections include "Black IPA a.k.a. Kurohitsuji no Ale" and "Kurotobi #4 / Belgian Stout," alongside "Komagome Brown" and "Komagome Best Bitter," giving the menu a distinctly local feel with beers named after the area. The hazy-style "Belgian Hazy IPA a.k.a. Shirohitsuji no Ale" is a collaboration with Sanriku Beer, and together with Kurohitsuji no Ale, which is also labeled as a collaboration, it highlights the connections between breweries.
About the Taproom
Hinomoto Brewing & Beer Stand is a brewpub that serves only domestic craft beer. The food menu centers on Kaki no Tane peanuts and dagashi snacks, making it less of a place for a full meal and more of a taproom built around beer. In its post, it also suggested spending a slow day with local Komagome beer on a rainy day when hanami would be difficult.
The next day, Sunday, April 5, is also set to feature Chili Chili Sunday as a chili con carne day, so there is another reason to stop by across the weekend. For anyone in the Komagome area who wants to compare house-brewed beers across different styles, this is an update worth checking out.
