May 24 Tap Lineup
At 15brewery (Fifteen Brewery, takeaway sales only) in Hayama Town, Miura District, Kanagawa, the beers going on tap on Sunday, May 24 have been announced. Business hours are 14:00-19:00, and for now standing service is closed, with sales limited to takeaway by weight. As a brewery designed for enjoying beer at home, the lineup makes it easy to choose according to your mood that day.
The lineup for the day consists of five beers: a Belgian-style beer, a dark beer, a fruit beer, a wheat-heavy beer, and an IPA.
- Bottom of the Swamp
A Belgian-style beer made with plenty of wheat malt, plus orange peel, coriander seed, chamomile, clove, lime from Owase City, Mie Prefecture, and honey from Hachigoya in Nagai, Yokosuka City. Its sweetness and acidity layer together in a complex way, with spicy aromas to enjoy as well.
- Stout
A jet-black beer characterized by deep richness and flavor. It is offered as a beer to savor slowly.
- Orange Ale
A fruit beer that makes use of the rich aroma and acidity derived from oranges. It finishes with a clear citrus profile.
- Wheat Land
A light-drinking beer made with a generous amount of wheat malt added to barley malt, and seasoned with hops that have a white-wine-like aroma. It uses part of Miura Bakery Mitsumugi's baguette as an ingredient.
- Raw Hazy IPA
An IPA made using the Raw Ale method, in which the wort is not boiled. Citrus and pine-like hop aromas, along with bitterness, come to the fore. This one also uses Miura Bakery Mitsumugi's baguette.
15brewery is a brewery located in a residential area of Hayama, and its hallmark is making beer with local ingredients. In this post, the lineup stood out for its quiet blue-themed atmosphere and its distinctly local Hayama ingredient character. If you're planning a tasting, a nice flow would be to start with the lighter-aroma Wheat Land, move on to the dark Stout, and then finish with the spicy Bottom of the Swamp. Since it is meant to be enjoyed as takeaway, it is worth choosing with food pairings in mind as well.
