In the winners list published by the Japan Craft Beer Association, “Ibuki Weizen” from Nagahama Roman Beer Co., Ltd. was selected for silver in the keg division’s “64. South German-style Hefeweizen” category.
Nagahama Roman Beer was founded in 1996. According to its official website, it operates a restaurant renovated from an Edo-period rice storehouse and serves freshly poured draft beer along with dishes made with local ingredients. The brewery has centered its lineup on the standard Nagahama Ale, Aumi Pilsner, and Ibuki Weizen, while also offering seasonal releases and collaboration beers.
This award shows that the brewery’s long-valued wheat beer was also recognized by the judges for its quality.
