A Limited IPA Connecting Railways and Local Culture

To mark the Sagano Scenic Railway locomotive DE10 series memorial, Kyoto Arashiyama Brewery created 'Tsukimori Katsuragawa Beer.' In an Instagram post, it appeared with a label reminiscent of a trolley and was introduced as a handoff from the canned beer 'Kaiun.' It will make its first appearance at 'Tsukimori Night Cherry Blossom Railway,' held on April 11. The event is planned to be enjoyed together with a illuminated cruise through Hozukyo Gorge and a concert.

This brand is also connected to 'Katsuragawa Tsukimori-ko,' an initiative that uses art to connect the nature, history, and culture of the Katsura River basin. On Kyoto Arashiyama Brewery's official store, it is presented as 'Katsuragawa Beer (IPA),' officially approved by Matsuo Taisha, and is described as an IPA with a gorgeous aroma and bitterness, ABV 6.5%, IBU 27. Another feature is that part of the sales supports cultural activities.

With its Sanjo Brewery and brewpub in Nakagyo Ward, Kyoto City as its base, the brewery advocates that it 'makes beer rooted in Kyoto that people around the world can enjoy with a smile.' This beer, timed to a railway commemorative project, deserves attention as an effort that reconnects tourism, local culture, and craft beer within a single context.
