New on Tap
On April 18, the beer pub HOP MAN in Jengensaka, Chigasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, connected a new keg: Noboribetsu local beer Oni Densetsu’s Kinki Pale Ale Mosaic Single Ver. It is said to have an ABV of 5.5% and an IBU of 40, and to finish with a citrus aroma from Mosaic hops layered with fruitiness and a tropical impression.
While it has a solid bitterness, the flavor that passes through the nose is pleasant, and it is a beer designed with drinkability in mind. In a beer pub like HOP MAN, where the expectation is to take time and really savor the beer, there is enjoyment in drinking with an awareness of the differences in these single-hop versions. Since there is still a little of the previous batch left, if a side-by-side comparison is possible, it would be interesting to see how the Mosaic character comes through.
If you are looking for craft beer in Chigasaki, this kind of new tap release is not one to miss. It is a pint to enjoy in HOP MAN’s calm atmosphere, with the drinkability typical of Oni Densetsu and a pale ale that puts hop aroma front and center.
