BUZZED LAMB BREWING in Yanaka, Taito Ward, Tokyo, introduced its new beer 'Ideyo! Me~rtsen!' on Instagram. The style is Marzen, the ABV is 5.0%, and the pH is 4.33. In the post, it is presented as a beer that clearly brings out the aroma and flavor of barley, alongside its amber appearance.

Märzen belongs to the lager family that lets you enjoy the sweetness and umami of malt, as well as the toasty aroma from roasted malt, and this new release carefully explains those characteristics as well. According to BUZZED LAMB BREWING, the beer was designed to have depth in both color and flavor while still leaving the crisp finish typical of a lager, making it easy to keep drinking.

The brewery is a brewpub and beer bar housed in a former liquor store building in Yanaka, and it opened on August 1, 2024. One of its defining features is the space, which still carries the feel of its age, with brewing tanks visible inside. It presents itself as rooted in the local community while also taking on new styles without locking itself into a fixed lineup.

This latest post makes that direction clear as well. In Yanaka, where old streetscapes remain, the brewery reinterpreted a traditional lager style in the context of its own brewing, and shared it as a release with a playful name. It is a new beer that reflects BUZZED LAMB BREWING's combination of local atmosphere and craft experimentation.
