CraftBeerSpot Hathor taps Isekadoya’s Bourbon Barrel Aged Shadowplay 2024 and 2025
CraftBeerSpot Hathor in Kyobashi, Osaka updated its July 1 draft list with two recommended barrel-aged stouts from Isekadoya Beer: Bourbon Barrel Aged Shadowplay 2024 and 2025. The 16-tap lineup also spans lager, white beer, fruit beer, IPA, and black beer.
CraftBeerSpot Hathor in Kyobashi, Osaka highlighted a pair of barrel-aged stouts in its July 1 draft update. The recommended pours are "Bourbon Barrel Aged Shadowplay 2024" and "Bourbon Barrel Aged Shadowplay 2025," both from Isekadoya Beer. For beer fans, the chance to compare two vintages of the same concept is the main attraction.
The 2024 release is built on a Russian imperial stout base and blends four aged components: Shadowplay Imperial Stout aged 3 months, Double Dare aged 14 months, Dark Entries aged 22 months, and Scotch Ale aged 36 months. It is then conditioned with toasted coconut, tonka bean, and banana, creating a rich profile with layered roast, cocoa, coffee, and mature barrel character. The 2025 version follows the same idea, giving drinkers a fresh point of comparison.
Beyond the dark-beer showcase, Hathor’s taps cover a wide range of styles. The list includes Yebisu and Fresh Pressed Beyond the Pacific in lager, Ume White in white beer, Golden Dragon and Wheat Wine 2024 in ale, Momoka to Kyouko no Duet Weizen from Repubrew in the fruit category, Nekonihiki, Nekosanbiki, and Nikukyu IPA in IPA, plus Chocolate Brownie Stout for another black-beer option.
With 16 taps and a smoked-food menu, Hathor is set up as a pub where visitors can move from a lighter pint to a dense barrel-aged stout without leaving the bar. It is a practical stop for drinkers who want range, not just a single headline beer.
