Dogo Mugikan to Host Dogo Beer’s 30th Anniversary Summer Festival from July 18
Minakuchi Shuzo announced on Instagram that it will hold a "Dogo Beer Summer Festival" to mark the 30th anniversary of Dogo Beer. The three-day event runs from July 18 to 20, with limited beers and festival-style programming planned at Dogo Mugikan near Dogo Onsen Main Building.
A summer festival for the 30th anniversary
On June 29, Minakuchi Shuzo announced on its official Instagram account that it will hold a "Dogo Beer Summer Festival" to celebrate 30 years since it began brewing local beer as a specialty of Dogo Onsen. The event is scheduled for three days, from July 18 to 20, and the post says visitors can expect activities that make "after-bath beer" even more enjoyable, along with limited-edition beers for the anniversary.
What you can drink at Dogo Mugikan
The venue, Dogo Mugikan, sits right next to Dogo Onsen and works as a beer pub where guests can enjoy brewery-direct Dogo Beer. The official shop highlights the core Dogo Beer lineup, including "Dogo Beer" itself, "Dogo Beer Yugaeri IPA," "Dogo Beer Kölsch (Botchan Beer)," "Dogo Beer Alt (Madonna Beer)," "Dogo Beer Stout (Soseki Beer)," and "Dogo Beer Weizen (Nobosan Beer)."
A beer made for a hot-spring town
Dogo Beer is brewed with the local water of Futonada, the same good water used for the sake "Nikitatsu," and is made with the brewing techniques Minakuchi Shuzo has built over many years. Because it is a non-heat-treated draft beer, it fits the hot-spring-town setting naturally. After walking around the Dogo area, Dogo Mugikan offers an easy stop for a beer that feels tied to the place itself.
The 30th-anniversary summer festival should give beer fans a good reason to revisit the brand’s classics while waiting for more details on the limited beers. For now, the core lineup at Dogo Mugikan already makes the stop worthwhile.
