Nagahama Roman Beer is a brewery founded in 1996 in Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture. It will mark its 30th anniversary in 2026. In a townscape steeped in history and nestled in a place nurtured by the snowmelt waters of Mt. Ibuki, the brewery has continued to work on limited-batch beers while protecting its regular lineup as a restaurant attached to a beer factory. The accumulated experience as a local craft beer brewery lives on in this new release as well.
Belgian Saison originated as a style brewed by farmers in Belgium's Wallonia region during the winter slack season. Designed with people doing summer farm work in mind, it has traditionally been characterized by a well-fermented, dry taste and hopping to improve shelf life. Nagahama Roman Beer's interpretation this time also follows that lineage while aiming for the drinkability of today.

Chief brewer Yuki Ueda said he was delighted to be able to release again the Belgian Saison for which he designed the recipe for the first time, and that he finished it with a light, crisp taste suited to the coming season. It should pair well not only with a drink during a walk or break, but also with fried foods and spicy dishes. This is a limited-edition beer to enjoy simply alongside meals as we move from spring into early summer.
