Yamorido in Kyoto's Fushimi to host a three-day Karakuta Market from Aug. 21, with Gangi Brewing on tap
Yamorido, a brewpub in Kyoto's Fushimi district, will hold its three-day Karakuta Market from Friday, Aug. 21 through Sunday, Aug. 23. The event pairs second-hand goods and retro miscellany with a tap list featuring Yamorido house beers and two guest beers from Gangi Brewing in Niigata.
From Friday, Aug. 21 through Sunday, Aug. 23, Yamorido's Karakuta Market will take place in Kyoto's Fushimi district. In the post, the shop describes itself as a place that 'enjoys the old and creates the new,' and says it will sell surplus tableware, footed trays stored in an old townhouse, beer glasses, and Showa-era retro goods at bargain prices. Payment is cash only, so bringing small change and an eco bag is recommended.
The tap list is also worth a look. Yamorido's house beers on tap include:
- Chabuki / Japanese Saison
- Makomako / NZ Wheat IPA
- Minamikaze / Extra Pale Ale (XPA)
- SKIP / West Coast Pilsner
- Gogo no Stout / Oatmeal Coffee Stout
- Chabuki - Shinsen ver. / Japanese Saison
- Nanamin (Yamorido 7th Anniversary Brew) / Juicy IPA
Guest beers come from Gangi Brewing in Niigata: MOREISH and HOP SUMMIT. The lineup spans bright saisons and XPA, a coffee-leaning stout, and hop-forward IPA styles.
It is a three-day event where shopping and drinking can be enjoyed in the same visit. For beer fans, it looks like a good chance to sample Yamorido's house lineup alongside guest taps while browsing the market.
