Booth ready for Hakuho Festival

Tokumanjiri Hinomoto Bakushu has completed booth preparations for its appearance at the 32nd Hakuho Festival at Tōhaku General Park in Kotoura on August 2. In its Instagram post, the brewery indicated that setup had been finished ahead of the event, suggesting the final stage of preparation for the summer festival.

Related event information lists the festival running from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. For local visitors, it offers a chance to enjoy food and drinks as the evening unfolds in one of Kotoura’s signature summer gatherings.

A brewery shaped by Kotoura

Founded in 2022, Tokumanjiri Hinomoto Bakushu is a microbrewery that began brewing in Kotoura. According to its official site, the brewery now operates in a space that once housed a juice factory, and it continues to work with local water and locally rooted ingredients.

One of its flagship beers, Byaku, is a milk ale made with skim milk powder. The beer is described as having a fruity aroma, a clean finish, and a milky aftertaste. That kind of profile gives the brewery a clear identity when it appears at local events like Hakuho Festival.

A local connection

The brewery regularly shares sales and event information through its official site and social channels. Its presence at a community festival like Hakuho adds another link between Kotoura’s food culture and its growing craft beer scene.

For festival-goers, the key question will be which beers are poured on the day. Either way, it should be a good opportunity to taste a Kotoura-made beer in the atmosphere of a summer night festival.
