Ogose Brewery Announces the Events and Day-Of Schedule for Kura-biraki 2026
Asahara Shuzo (Ogose Brewery) in Ogose Town, Saitama, released the day’s events and schedule three days before Kura-biraki 2026. From brass band music and sake-tasting quizzes to taiko drumming and a rock-paper-scissors tournament, the lineup offers plenty to enjoy alongside the tastings.
Day-Of Flow
Asahara Shuzo (Ogose Brewery) in Ogose Town, Saitama, has released an introduction to the events for Kura-biraki 2026. Registration is scheduled to begin at 9:30, with the event starting at 10:00. At the venue, visitor-participation programs will unfold in sequence, including a brass band performance by local students, a sake-tasting quiz, taiko drumming, and a rock-paper-scissors tournament.
Stage Programs and Interactive Content
From 11:00, a brass band made up of local students will perform. Around 11:45, after the performance ends, answers for the sake-tasting quiz will begin to be accepted. The quiz is a format in which participants search the tasting booths for the same types of sake as those labeled "A," "B," and "C" at the tasting-judging booth. Visitors can compare drinks between the tasting booths and the judging booth as many times as they like. However, each person may submit only one set of answers. Prizes are prepared for those who answer all questions correctly, limited to the first 600 people.
At 13:00, the taiko drumming group "En" will take the stage. Representative Taiyo Arai commented that they prepared uplifting songs so visitors can enjoy the performance while having a drink. The set will be performed by a specially selected lineup of members and will run for 40 minutes.
A rock-paper-scissors tournament is also scheduled for 14:00 on stage, and alcoholic drinks will be awarded to the participants who remain undefeated. Since the event is planned to be held multiple times, the format makes it easy to join at a convenient moment.
Tastings and Admission
If you would like to taste, purchase a tasting glass at the reception desk for 500 yen (tax included). You can take the glass home as a keepsake. Admission is free, and visitors who do not wish to taste can proceed directly into the venue. Asahara Shuzo says it will continue sharing information up until the day of the event, and guidance is also available on the special website.
The atmosphere of the brewery, combined with local performances and sake, is what makes Ogose Brewery’s Kura-biraki feel so distinctive. With events centered on local residents, it also has a strong sense of being rooted in the community.
