Loto Brewery posted on Instagram, "We secretly entered the 2026 Australian International Beer Awards..." making its entry into an international beer competition known. Loto Brewery is based in Yokohama, Kanagawa, and the announcement conveys an approach that is rooted in the local community while also expanding its horizon overseas.

The 2026 Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA) is one of the world's largest annual beer competitions, hosted by Melbourne Royal. According to official information, the 2026 competition judged not only draft and packaged beers, but also cider and perry, with 14 major trophies and 24 category awards established. The entry deadline was March 13, judging took place from May 5 to 8, and the awards ceremony was held on May 14.

This post did not mention which brand was entered, or whether it won any awards. Still, simply sending a beer into an international judging competition is itself a sign of confidence in brewing quality and style design. Loto Brewery's move from Yokohama to a world-standard stage is a topic worth following closely.
