Beer Tsukasa, a craft beer pub in Uji, Kyoto, announced new keg openings for its October 5, 2026 service. The pub is scheduled to open from 11:00 to 14:00 and again from 16:00 to 21:30.

One of the highlights is MACGUFFIN from Nara Brewing’s experimental series. The beer is built around the idea of recreating amaro, an Italian herbal liqueur, in beer form. Its ingredients include beetroot, coriander, orange peel, cardamom, cinnamon, angelica, and caraway. A sweeter base brings together a complex range of herbal and spice notes.

The post recommends MACGUFFIN to fans of herbal liqueurs and also mentions the possibility of a mini-size pour, making it an approachable way to explore its unconventional profile.

The other featured keg is Sansho Lager from Ise Kadoya Brewing. The beer combines a distinctly American hop character with Japanese sansho pepper. According to the announcement, the hop and pepper notes remain clearly recognizable while coming together in a balanced finish.

Beer Tsukasa is also revisiting its food menu, including dishes such as oden with shiitake mushrooms and mapo tofu with a larger amount of dashi. The updated food selection should offer new pairing possibilities for both beers. Visitors should check availability with the pub before making the trip to Uji.
