Mamemame Beer on Shodoshima has announced a new project to convert a former inn near the port into Seikai-so, a multi-use space that combines brewing, dining, hands-on experiences, and lodging. The idea is to deepen the island beer experience by connecting a pint not only to the taproom, but also to staying on the island and learning about it.

The brewery currently operates as a brewpub within walking distance of Sakate Port. Its website describes the beer as a handcrafted, unfiltered product made with plenty of Shodoshima ingredients and brewed in small batches. That local, ingredient-driven approach carries over naturally into the new plan.

Examples from the lineup include `Aka Mamemame`, a core beer for the brewery, and `Kin Mamemame`, a sake-yeast ale brewed with rice and koji. The former represents the brewery's standard line, while the latter leans into fermentation character and pairs well with food. An online talk introducing the project is scheduled for July 2, 2026, offering a closer look at how Mamemame Beer wants to deepen the way visitors experience the island.
