And Beer to Set Up at the Keyaki Hiroba Spring Beer Festival

The brewpub "And Beer," founded in Koenji, Tokyo, will appear at the Keyaki Hiroba Spring Beer Festival on Friday, May 15. The shop currently brews in Yamanashi and has built its appeal around pairing spice-forward dishes with its own house-brewed beers, so the event lineup will also feature beers designed to go well with food.

Beers Planned for Serving

- PEACH
A fruit beer made with peaches from Hagiwara Fruit Farm in Yamanashi City, Yamanashi Prefecture. Based on a hazy wheat beer, it keeps sweetness restrained while balancing aroma and acidity for an easy pairing with meals.
- HOPS
An IPA/WIPA made with hops from Hokuto, Yamanashi Prefecture. Its citrus-like bitterness and aroma make it easy to match with a wide range of dishes.
- RICE
A pilsner/light-colored lager finished with rice for a clean, crisp drinking profile. It uses Koshihikari rice from the Masutomi area of Hokuto City, supplied by the Yamanashi winery Kyoeido.

All three beers are listed at S 150 ml for 500 yen, M 250 ml for 700 yen, L 420 ml for 1,100 yen, and a reusable 275 ml serving for 700 yen.

Food Pairings Are Another Highlight

The venue will also offer food such as soupless spicy tantanmen and spicy mixed nuts. The setup makes it easy to experience, right at the event, the same synergy between spice dishes and beer that regulars enjoy at the Koenji shop.

What Defines the Shop

And Beer’s Koenji location is a brewpub where guests can enjoy daily-changing spice dishes alongside house-made craft beer. Whether drinking in the shop or chasing a beer you discovered at the event, its appeal lies in beers designed with food in mind.
