On April 9, the taps were refreshed at Craft Beer Bar & Bottle Shop Progress in the Musashi-Kosugi area. This time, the lineup is TKBrewing's "Amesta Berry", Ise Kadoya Beer's "West Coast Pilsner", and NomCraft's "Octopus King". Their flavor directions are clearly distinct, making this a good day to compare beers with very different personalities in a single stop.

"Amesta Berry" is an American Stout w/Black Berry. It is built around a rich roasted base and bitterness, with a subtle fruit aroma layered on top, making it a beer that dark-beer fans will want to try. Ise Kadoya Beer's "West Coast Pilsner" is characterized by bright hop character and a crisp drinking feel, and it is easy to enjoy all the way through its dry finish. NomCraft's "Octopus King" is a Dip Hop IPA made with Simcoe and Citra. Designed to balance juiciness and clarity, it is the kind of beer that makes you want to take your time and follow the aroma as it opens up.

Progress is a beer pub on the first floor of Hikari Building in Kosugicho. It is open from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on weekdays, and from 1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, takeout draft beer is 20% off, and they accept growlers as well as cups and plastic bottles from inside the shop. Cashless payments only, and the outdoor seating allows pets and includes leash hooks, so it is easy to use not only for a drink inside, but also for takeaway or a casual stop during a walk. Including its bottle shop function, it is a place that expands the everyday enjoyment of choosing craft beer.
