At the beer pub Fructus Sakaba in Utsubo Honmachi, Nishi Ward, Osaka, a collaboration event with UTSUBO BAKERY PANENA has kicked off. Running from May 20 through May 31, it proposes pairings of bread-centered dishes with craft beer.
In this collaboration, PANENA is selling the "Boiled Tongue Choela Sandwich" made with Fructus Sakaba's spice dishes. On the Fructus Sakaba side, the pub is offering snacks made with PANENA's bread. The post also introduced the "Mentaiko Calpis Butter and Stracciatella Toast," made with PANENA's "Buttermilk Bread." It combines mentaiko and Calpis butter on a high-hydration loaf made with 100% domestically grown wheat.
For beer pairings, the post says, "English pale ale and bitter are the perfect match." Another highlight of the event is its simple construction, which brings out the flavor of the bread.
This day's taps feature a wide range of styles.
- Dank City IPA / CRAFTROCK BREWING (American IPA 7.0%)
- SOYOKAZE / Kankiku Brewery (Italian Pilsner 5.0%)
