DD4D Brewing's Don Jalapeño joins SVB Tokyo's spicy food festival
DD4D Brewing from Matsuyama, Ehime will bring its jalapeño IPA Don Jalapeño to the Spicy Food x Craft Beer Fest in SVB Tokyo on July 11 and 12 at Spring Valley Brewery Tokyo in Daikanyama. The event pairs spicy dishes with craft beers selected for each menu item.
DD4D Brewing began as an apparel brand in Matsuyama in 1998 and opened its brewery inside the clothing store in May 2019. On its official site, the brewery describes a lineup built around creative use of ingredients such as iyokan and jalapeño, reflecting a style that moves freely between local flavors and experimental brewing.
In this Instagram post, DD4D announced that Don Jalapeño will appear at Spring Valley Brewery Tokyo's upcoming event. The festival will be held on July 11 and 12, 2026, in Daikanyama, and it will feature spicy dishes made with spices from five countries alongside up to 18 carefully selected craft beers. The venue also plans staged heat levels for the food, plus talk sessions and other event programming.
Don Jalapeño is a Jalapeño IPA that combines the fresh aroma of jalapeño with hop bitterness and tropical notes. Rather than pushing heat alone, the beer is built around aroma, balance and drinkability. That makes it an especially natural fit for spicy dishes, where flavor and heat can change the way the beer comes across.
DD4D has built a clear identity from its base in Matsuyama, Ehime: a brewery that crosses fashion and craft beer, while continuing to release both local ingredient-driven beers and more playful, experimental recipes. Its participation in this event fits that broader approach well, and it will be interesting to see how Don Jalapeño performs alongside SVB Tokyo's spicy menu.
