A Shimanami and Kankiku-focused tap list

Hibino Beer Craft Beer Kitchen & Store is featuring beers from Shimanami Brewery and Kankiku Brewery as the highlights of its September 9 lineup. Shimanami Brewery’s “Strike Pilsner” leads the draft list, joined by “Shimanami Cat Hassaku Ice Cream,” a seltzer made with hassaku citrus and ice cream, and “Shimanami Super Lemon Sour,” a lemon-forward seltzer.

Kankiku Brewery contributes the new “KUJYUKURI OCEAN RICE ALE” and “KUJYUKURI OCEAN IPA.” The former is a rice saison, while the latter is an American IPA, offering two distinctly different expressions from the Chiba brewery. The brewery’s hoppy wheat beer “Madoromi” is also available.

Variety across 13 taps

The remaining taps include CRAFT BEER BASE’s “RED IPA” and “BLOND,” Matsue Beer’s coffee-infused blonde ale “Herun no Hitotoki,” Daisen G Beer’s “Kohaku Weizen,” Johana Beer’s black IPA “Hikiyama BIACK,” Shiga Kogen Beer’s real ale version of “Shiga Kogen IPA,” and Asahi Beer’s “Asahi Nama Beer Maruef.”

The standby and upcoming list adds further variety, including “Lavender&Chamomile” from CRAFT BEER BASE, strawberry sour ale from Banrishun Brewing, “YOUR KRUSH” from Kankiku Brewery and U.B.P BREWERY, and several lagers and IPAs from Shimanami Brewery, Hanshiro Beer, Nomcraft Brewing, CRAFTBANK, and Karuizawa Q. The exclusive collaboration “Many Hands, One Coast,” a West Coast IPA by PAINT PALETTE BREWING with Enibru and Hibino Beer, is another notable option.

Located in the basement of the Botejyu Building in Kitakawaramachi, Sakai, Hibino Beer is a beer pub where craft beer is served alongside food. It opens from 6 p.m. to midnight Tuesday through Sunday, with bottle sales beginning at 3 p.m. The September sake list also includes hiyaoroshi and craft sake, making the bar a fitting destination for a relaxed evening of beer and sake tasting.
