Juso Brewery, a beer pub in Osaka’s Juso district, is now featuring Minoh Beer’s seasonal Peach Weizen Kawanakajima Ver.
Peach Weizen is brewed with purée made from Arakawa peaches grown by Hakki Farm in Wakayama. This Kawanakajima version uses the Kawanakajima peach variety, known for its rich sweetness, firm flesh, and pronounced fragrance.
The beer layers peach aromatics over the fruity character of Weizen yeast, including notes reminiscent of banana and clove. With wheat malt making up 50% of the grist, it has a soft, gentle mouthfeel and a cloudy, pale appearance. Despite its expressive peach character, the finish is crisp and dry rather than heavily sweet. It has an ABV of 5.0% and 12 IBU, making it an approachable choice for both fruit-beer fans and drinkers new to the style.
Minoh Beer’s Peach Weizen series is brewed in several seasonal versions, including Wase, Hakuho, Shimizu Hakuto, and Kawanakajima. The Kawanakajima version serves as the seasonal finale, offering a chance to enjoy a fuller peach aroma and compare the character of different varieties.
Located within walking distance of Juso Station, Juso Brewery offers a relaxed setting for exploring craft beer from Japan and abroad. Availability and serving format may change, so guests should check the current tap list before visiting. For beer lovers in Osaka, this is a timely opportunity to enjoy a distinctive seasonal wheat beer with a clear Japanese fruit character.
