Gahaha Beer on 5/31: keg rotation underway
The brewpub Gahaha Beer in Minamisuna, Koto Ward, Tokyo, announced a move toward its 9th anniversary in an Instagram post on 5/31. In the post, the shop said that with its 9th anniversary coming up next week, it would gradually connect to new beers as soon as the regular kegs run dry.
The first beer to appear that day was from `@mizonokuchibrewery`. In the post text, it was introduced as a beer made by Amano, who had worked together with the shop, making it a pint that evokes conversation and connections inside the store.
The image prominently shows `BRANTICA`, along with the label `HBC1019` and the copy, "I can't wait for summer! That kind of pint!" With hop-driven character pushed to the front and a sense of anticipating the season, it suggests a light, easy-drinking profile.
Gahaha Beer is a brewpub located inside a housing complex near Toyocho Station. In addition to enjoying house-brewed beer inside the store, its defining feature is that you can pair it with food in an izakaya style centered on fish dishes. The idea of making beer the star while also letting it be enjoyed over a long meal is very much in keeping with this place.
This post also signals a "now or never" moment of change ahead of the anniversary. Even regulars who are used to the usual lineup will likely want to follow Gahaha Beer’s new expressions, sparked by the keg rotation.
