Featured pour

CraftBeerSpot Hathor in Osaka’s Kyobashi area has posted its 8/9 draft beer lineup. The featured recommendation is Firestone Walker’s Primal Elements Blueberry & Marionberry. The beer is built from a blend of three bases: a barrel-aged wild-yeast saison, a Flanders red fermented with marionberries, and a lager beer. It is then aged for nine weeks in a French oak foudre with 2,300 kg of fresh blueberries from Washington State. The result is described as deeply purple in color, with raspberry-jam-like aroma, blueberry sweetness, and a firm tannic finish.

Today’s taps

The rest of the lineup covers a wide range of styles, with lager, ale, fruit beer, IPA, and black beer all represented. In the lager section are Black Label / Sapporo Beer and First Lager / Shimanami Brewery. The ale side includes from scratch Real Ale ver / Shiga Kogen Beer, Plum Gose / Minoh Beer, Wine Not? / Nomcraft × Choryo, and Gougin / Daisen G Beer.

The fruit selection adds Summer Orange Ale / Shonan Beer alongside the featured Firestone Walker beer. IPA options include Decacorn Tawaki / Flora Fermentation × Umbrella Rib, W-IPA Real Ale ver / Minoh Beer, and Three Factor Authentication / Barebottle. For darker beer fans, Kurikuro / Miyazaki Hideji Beer is on tap.

About the bar

Hathor is a beer pub with 16 taps and smoked food, making it an easy stop for people who want to compare styles rather than stick to one lane. This lineup moves from crisp lager to tart fruit beer, hop-forward IPA, and a dark beer, so it works well for a relaxed tasting session with food.
