Tuesday’s Menjiro

Mugisaya Pogology, a beer pub in Osaka’s Chuo Ward, used its Instagram post to promote the shop’s Tuesday-only Menjiro special. This time, the limited ramen was chilled Manganji pepper ramen, introduced as an unusual style of ramen. It is the kind of seasonal bowl that makes sense when the weather turns hot.

What is on tap

The day’s tap list covered a wide range of beer and cider styles. The lineup included CRAFTBANK’s 88★PUNCH, Minoh Beer’s Coffee IPA and Haikara Pils, Hop Butcher For The World’s FINGER FOOD, Kyoto Brewing’s 乳糖依存性, Onidensetsu’s 西鬼東鬼 IPA, REC CIDER BEER WORKS’ ゆらゆらハードサイダー アップルバース, Shima Brewing’s はっさくエール, BLADE FACTORY BREWING’s GOLDEN SLICE, Yorocco Beer’s Coastal Echo, Ushitora Brewery’s 千の酒になって and ダブル風鈴, plus GUINNESS NITRO ver / Diageo.

Why it works

The pub also offers a weekday Pogojiro Set: one regular-size craft beer plus three daily side dishes for 1,500 yen. The formula is simple, and that is the appeal. On Tuesday, you can come for the ramen; on other weekdays, you can come for the set; and at any time, the rotating tap list gives you a reason to stay for another glass.
