A brewer’s story behind Kagiya Brewing

Daikanyama beer pub Bibibi. has published a feature on Kagiya Brewing, one of the breweries highlighted during its current tap-on. The post focuses not only on the brewery, but also on the background of brewer Manabu Sato.

Before becoming a brewer, Sato was active in music. At the age of 26, he obtained an artist visa with members of his band at the time and moved to the United Kingdom. He describes how the country’s busking culture led him to consider making a living through music.

While in the United Kingdom, Sato also worked at a Japanese restaurant and learned how to make sushi from Thai colleagues. His experiences in music, overseas life, and food service eventually formed part of the path that led him into brewing.

Craft beer and the people who make it

Bibibi. is a welcoming Daikanyama beer pub where guests can enjoy Japanese craft beer alongside the stories of its makers. Its standing-bar format also makes it easy to stop by alone and chat with the staff about the beers currently on tap.

The original post does not specify individual beer names, beer styles, or the serving period. Guests visiting Bibibi. should therefore ask which Kagiya Brewing beers are currently available. A visit offers an opportunity to enjoy a beer while learning about the brewer’s journey from music to brewing.
