Release Information

Noroshi Brewing (602 Oguro, Nagareyama City, Chiba Prefecture) announced the release of a new product on Instagram. This new beer is Noroshi California Common. It is designed as a California Common with ABV 5.5%, IBU 38, and CO₂ 2.4 to 2.5 vol. The malts used are Pale Ale / Munich / Pilsner / Spitz / Crystal Rosewood / Crystal Birch / Sour, and the hops used are Centennial / Cascade / CTZ / Motueka / Galaxy.

Flavor Direction

The tasting notes explain that as soon as it is poured into the glass, a toasty aroma reminiscent of caramel and toast rises up. On the palate, the richness and gentle sweetness from multiple crystal malts spread across the tongue, then are layered with the bitterness of American hops. The finish is dry, with a quiet malt aftertaste lingering. Rather than a beer that pushes forward with flashy aroma, it can be described as a brew whose strong structure becomes more apparent the more you drink it.

Brewery Background

Noroshi Brewing is a brewery in the Nagareyama Otakanomori area, and its location next to a farm is one of its defining features. Together with the atmosphere of its old-house-style taproom, it offers a chance to enjoy beer while feeling the character of the land. It has previously offered a wide range of styles, including saisons, IPAs, and seasonal fruit beers, and this California Common is a new proposal in that same line. It is worth noting as a new release for people who want to slowly enjoy the depth of malt and the contours of hops.
