The newly tapped beer is a pomegranate-and-mango fruit IPA

TDM 1874 Brewery Hoshitenqlay Store in Kanagawa's Hoshitenqlay updated Instagram at 1:05 p.m. on March 21, 2026 and introduced Fruit Bowl IPA as a NEW TAP. The post said that a new "fruit IPA using pomegranate and mango" had been tapped, and described its taste as having a "tropical fruit-like aroma" and a good balance with the "complex flavor of pomegranate."

Fruit IPA is a style that layers fruit character over hop-driven citrus and tropical impressions to create depth. In this combination, the rounded fruitiness of mango is complemented by the acidity and astringency nuances of pomegranate, making it less likely to lean entirely toward sweetness. It sounds like a glass that is easy to enjoy both with food and on its own, and one that makes you want to try it on tap first.

Brewery background

TDM 1874 Brewery is a craft beer brewery rooted in a Yokohama liquor wholesaler founded in 1874. The shop information for Hoshitenqlay also highlights that it selects hops and malt from around the world according to the beer style and serves freshly made craft beer brewed inside the same facility. The official ABOUT page states that brewing began in January 2017 and also notes initiatives such as using local ingredients and reusing spent grain. This Fruit Bowl IPA also appears to be a new tap that extends that approach to ingredient selection and recipe design.

The Hoshitenqlay store is open from 12:00 to 21:00 (food L.O. 20:00, drinks L.O. 20:30). It is best to check the latest tap lineup before visiting.
